He was predeceased by: his father Joseph G. Dobis; his brother James "Cowboy" Dobis; his sister-in-law Ann Dobis; his father-in-law Ernie Gomez; and his brother-in-law Edward Gomez.

He is survived by: his mother Hazel Dobis (Plank); his son Christian Dobis; his wife Patricia "Babe" Gomez-Dobis; his stepson Richard Gomez; his siblings, John Dobis (Darlene), Debra Humpert (Gary), Joel Dobis (Nina), Steve Dobis and Scott Dobis (Dana); his nieces and nephews, Larissa Jackson (Tory) and Ty Humpert; his mother-in-law Ruth Gomez; and his siblings-in-law, Theresa Fisher (Brian) and Michael Gomez (Andrea).

Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Snow Funeral Home (3775 N Center Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 5:00 PM and on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM.
