He is survived by: his wife Dolores Jean Kelderman; his sons, Douglas Besteman (Jill) of Kinross, Mark Besteman (Barb Podleski) of Rudyard, Dean Besteman (Jennifer) of Rudyard and Marshall Besteman (Rachael) of Rudyard; his grandchildren, Cole, Tate, Madisyn, Brandon, Brooklynn, Jared and Emma; and his sisters, Mary Kouw (Howard) of Zeeland, Virginia English (Fred) of Tomahawk and Irene Den Blyker (Arden) of Gallup.
