He is survived by: his parents, Michael Cornelius and Anna Cornelius (Anna Sewelin); his sons, Seth and Landon; his siblings, Todd (Mary), Chris and Matt; his nieces and nephews, Aidan, James, Callie, Carlie, Blake, Clay, Drew, Lexie Karcher, Charlie, Owen Thiel and Madeline Maco; and his former wife Elizabeth Cornelius.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 20th 2024 at 9:30 AM. A rosary was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024 at 7:30 PM at the A. J. Desmond & Sons (32515 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48073). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the National Shrine.
His mother, Ann Cornelius, walked 60 miles for the Susan G. Komen Foundation this year, and David was especially proud of her. In honor of his memory, the family requests that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a cause David deeply supported.
