He was predeceased by: his father Carl Willoughby; his son Robert Joseph Willoughby; and his brother Thomas. He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Willoughby (Hofbeur); his wife Susan Webb; his son Thomas; and his sister Carol Springer.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the Detroit Dog Rescue Program in his honor appreciated.
