He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Mattingly and Isabel Mattingly (Gray); his daughter Cecilia; and his siblings, Tom, Bill, Joan and Mary Ellen.
He is survived by: his wife Mary (Grant); and his children, Patrick Mattingly (Lori), Pamela Engelhard (Jim), Gregory Mattingly (Anne) of Peoria and Andrea Mattingly (Jeff Mustama) of Harrison, Michigan.. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
