He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Spence and Rena Spence (Sharpe); his brothers-in-law, Jeffrey and Brian; and his father-in-law Holley.

He is survived by: his wife Carrie Hundley; his children, Melissa Albright (Travis), Jessica Spence (Gary King), Trisha Tackett (Matthew) and Tyler Spence (Sammie Campbell); his mother-in-law Leona Hundley; his brother-in-law Larry Hundley; and his siblings, Jim Spence (Pat), Sheila Radunz (Mark) and Lisa Vowell (Dane). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
