She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Carey and Katie Carey (Pendergrass); her husband Burrell Stephens; her sons, Ronnie Franks, Bobby Franks and Steven Franks; her great grandchild Greg Perry; and her brothers, JC Carey, Clifford Carey and Ray Carey.
She is survived by: her daughter Connie Shell (Patrick); her grandchildren, Chris Joseph (Arlene), Wendy Johnson and Cassandra Miller (Oscar Rodriguez); her great grandchildren, Savannah Joseph, Delanie Joseph, Tyler Miller, Jorin Rodriguez and Bethany Shepherd; and her sister Bertha Jean Cecil.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Breast Cancer Research.
