He was predeceased by: his father Merlen Longhway (Jim); and his brother Brandon Neil Longhway. He is survived by: his mother Cheryl Longhway; his significant other Christeen; his sons, Derek James and Sean Alan (Jordan); his siblings, Thomas, Michael Medulla (Becky), Jill Medulla and David Scott; and his grandchildren, Mia Marie, Leyton Allen and Derek James Jr..
