He was predeceased by: his parents, Gheorghe Spang and Floare Spang (Pausa); and his sisters, Elena Trifa (Ionica) and Ana Pater (Cornel). He is survived by: his wife Ana Abrudan; his children, Olivia Potra (Ionel), Adrian (Melania), Claudia Dumitrescu (Octavian), Chris (Ligia), John (Ligia), Delia Hut (Florin), Linda Gherman (Adrian) and Steve (Fibia); and his brother Nic (Elena). He is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.
