He was predeceased by: his parents, David Schaefer and Goldie Schaefer (Nelson); his son David Schaefer; his former wife Pam Schaefer (Moody); and his siblings, Lillian Williams, Sue Flowers and Charles Schaefer.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Schaefer (Carpenter); his daughters, Veronica Rollston (Duane) and Victoria Borrink (Ron); his siblings, Noreta Leonardson, Mary Schaefer, Fred Schaefer (Evelyn), Dick Schaefer (Pat) and Tom Schaefer (Cathy); his grandchildren, Amber, Robert, Brandon, Sarah and Jessy; and his great grandchildren, Sofia, Amiyah, Bennett, George, Noah, Oliver and Case.
