He was predeceased by: his parents, Harris PreFontaine and Mary PreFontaine (Bekminn); and his brother Ron PreFontaine. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his sister Linda Lahay; and his children, Dawn Conely (John), Richard PreFontaine, II (Jen), Tammy Robinson, Thomas Barnes (Sharon), Deanna Merret (Bill), Rondi Bodnar (Steve) and Kamren Jasperse (John). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pederson Funeral Home (127 N Monroe St, Rockford, MI 49341). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
