He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Steinke and Anna Steinke (Kunz); his daughter Mary Buist; his former wives, Patsy Steinke and Mary Ann Steinke; and his siblings, Helen Stevens, Florence Wilson, Wilhelmina Snider, Eleanor Bober and Franklin Steinke.
He is survived by: his wife Janiece Steinke (Coady); his children, Anne Hawley (Mike), Jim Steinke and Chuck Steinke; his stepchildren, Peter, Amy Nielsen and Jacquie Fase; and his brother Gordon Steinke (Carol). He is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 2950 Monroe Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
