He was predeceased by: his parents, George Haveman and Lillian Haveman; his former wife Lela Haveman (Hardy); his siblings, George, Melvin Haveman, Flora Carr, Hazel Worrall and Erma Watson; his stepdaughter Kim Russell; and his granddaughter Laurie Reyes.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his daughters, Linda Hatfield of Rockford and Jodi DeLange (Jon) of Kentwood; his stepchildren, Kip Schoonmaker (Jane), Gina Zeigler and Cindy Ancona (Pete); his siblings, Joe Haveman (Linda) of Ohio and June Gruno of Flint; his sister-in-law Caroline Haveman of Merritt; his grandchildren, John Hatfield, Jodi Clifford (Richard), Jason Nielsen (Nicole), Chad Nielsen (Elizabeth), Brett Nielsen (Katie) and Scott Nielsen; and his great grandchildren, Jarod, Chase Clifford, Nicole Hatfield, Timothy, Richard, Lexa Reyes and Lincoln Nielsen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
