He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn; his parents, Peter Hekker and Grace Hekker; and his siblings, Jack, Paul, Maxine and Tom.
He is survived by: his children, Pat Potes (Steve), Carol Richardson (Dean) and Tom Hekker (Karen); and his grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Mackenzie, Mandee and Denielle.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church (4865 11 Mile Rd NE, Rockford, MI 49341). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
