With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Edward Riippa (Rockford, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 17, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Riippa and Helvi Riippa (Lofback); his wife MarKay; his daughter Emily (Kyle Schwiebert); his grandsons, Silas and Matthias; his siblings, Phil and Judy (Michael Cates); his nieces, Alicia, Alexis (William Michaelson) and Victoria (Jordan Fox); his nephew John; and his close friends, Jim, Aileen Matheson, Marty and Jan Miller.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to FMAB (the foundation that supports BAMF), the Saint Mary's Foundation (to support the Lacks Cancer Center), or New Hope Community Church in Doug's memory.
