He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Barnard and Edna Barnard (Mellema); his wife Miriam Barnard (Wolz); and his brothers, Gene Barnard and Ervin Barnard.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Jackson (Steve), Karen Herrema (Rod), Susan Ruthruff (Tim) and Barbara Wood (Jamie); his grandchildren, Andrew Jackson (Haley Kline), Bryan Jackson, Kenneth Herrema (Tianyi), Jennifer Buter (Eric), Brooke Wood and Chase Wood; his sister Doris Vandenberg; and his sister-in-law Martha Buhr (Norm). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
