He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving Jahns and Anne Jahns (Draheim); his wife Janet (Halle); his brother Rolland Jahns; and his granddaughter Karissa (Kristine Marsh).
He is survived by: his children, Kerry Jahns, Scott Jahns (Catherine) and Holly DeGarmo (Joseph); his brothers, Irwin Jahns (Georgia) and Don Jahns (Kathy); his grandchildren, Janice, Shon (Katie), Annie, Elizabeth and Matthew; and his great grandchildren, Haylee, Carter, Daisa, Moriah and Jamie.
