She was predeceased by: her parents, William Vandenburgh and Cecelia Vandenburgh (Simmons); her husband Roy Hoekstra; her sister Helen Laney of Elsie Fries; her son Melvin Hoekstra; her brother Myron Vandenburgh; and her siblings-in-law, Iris Hoekstra, Fran Vandenburgh and Earl Fries.
She is survived by: her sons, Ross Hoekstra (Laura), Michael Hoekstra (Lenore), Jim Hoekstra and John Hoekstra (Ann); her brother Frank Hoekstra; and her daughter-in-law Patsy Hoekstra. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
