He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sharon; his children, Pamela Winalis (Gary), Jeff Stys (Sue), Carrie McElwee (Mark) and Greg Stys (Lisa); his grandchildren, Rebecca Winalis, Claire McElwee, Ryan McElwee, Michael Stys and Grace Stys; and his brother Lawrence Stys (Carol).

In lieu of flowers donations are welcome to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan or the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
