With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John R. Kersten (Rochester, Michigan), born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on January 18, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Johanna Kersten and William Kersten; his siblings, Marie and William; and his former wife Kay.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his siblings, Carol Thomas (Mike) and Dan (Leslie); his children, Julie Sykes (Tom), Janis, Bartley and Buffy Hurd; and his grandchildren, Reagan, Daxton, Benjamin and Reese.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Easter Seals MORC in Auburn Hills, MI.
