She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Reitzel and Jessie Reitzel (James); her husband Dr. Leo Parnagian; her brother Rufus "Bud" Reitzel; and her niece Heather Reitzel.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jamie Brownlee (Ronald) and Jodie Kinney (Robert); her granddaughters, Amy Parnagian-Gilmore (Kali Gilmore) and Jessie Bonofiglio (Michael); her stepgrandchildren, Melissa Kinney (Jeff Sokolowski), Andrea Kinney (Patrick McCauley), Daryll Kinney and Robert Kinney; her great grandchildren, Lewis and Henry Anderson; her stepgreat-grandsons, Wiley, Tate Sokolowski and Bryce Gilmore; and her nieces and nephews, Lisa Bradley (Nathaniel), Stacey Reitzel, James Reitzel and Tracy Reitzel.
Joan also served on many Boards over the years including the Michigan Women's Commission, Macomb County Library Association, Goodfellows Clothing Drive, and as Chairman of the United Foundation Speaker's Bureau.
