He was predeceased by: his parents, Shell Evert Smith and Mina A. Smith (Clyne). He is survived by: his wife Mae McArthur; his children, Penny Mae Burns (late John), Paula Ann Balentine (Timothy), Peggy Lee Whittemore (Richard) and Perry Shell; his grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, Betty Cassidy, Brandy Cooley and Earl Whittemore IV; and his great grandchildren, Kristin Taylor, Jean Cassidy, John Cassidy III, Morgana Cassidy, Delaney Cassidy, Angelique Hilson and Sorin Whittemore.
