She was predeceased by: her grandson Herbert O. Fletcher, IV; her parent Jessie Ruth Austin; her son-in-law James L. Nelson; and her close friend Dorothy Jones. She is survived by: her children, Sedalia E. Austin, Tamara D. Fletcher-Nelson, Herbert O. Fletcher, III (Shawanna), Kimberly V. Shaw and Dr. MoNique K. Price; her grandchild Kalena Shaw; and her sisters, Gloria Dean Jones of Lansing, MI and Cheryl Ann Gilbert of Smyrna, GA. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Welcome Missionary Baptist Church (143 Oneida St, Pontiac, MI 48341-1626). A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
