Dorothy left this world on February 8, 2025 at the age of 103, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Colombo and Louise Colombo (Ranglo); her brothers, Harold, Albert and Joseph Colombo; and her grandson Robert.
She is survived by: her children, Fred Makinen (Mary), Nancy Mooneyham and Marilyn Mills (Larry); her grandchildren, Steven Makinen (Renee), Laura Black (Bill), Frederick Makinen (Christina), Lisa Garr (Dan) and David Mooneyham (Kelley); her great grandchildren, Morgan, Steven, Olivia, Jared, Jenna (Kile), Freddie, Avery, Haley, Ryan, Michael, Joshua (Nicole) and Kelsey (Alex); her great great grandchildren, Hudson and Liam; and her sisters, Jeanette McCurry and Genevieve Colombo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pixley Funeral Home (322 W University Dr, Rochester, MI 48307). The lying in state was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint John Lutheran Church (1011 W University Dr, Rochester Hills, MI 48307). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
