She was predeceased by: her parents, Maciej Wroblewski and Apolonia Wroblewski (Domin); and her former husband Max Lehman. She is survived by: her husband John Smalenberg; her son Dave Lehman; her granddaughter Mary McGaughy (Larry); her great grandchild Chayton; and her stepson Craig Smalenberg. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She crafted beautiful quilts for various occasions and generously donated countless pieces to Holy Family Parish over the years.
