She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Paul Dancer Pierce and Ivy Margaret Kinsey Pierce; her husband Lyman Stanton Walker (Stan); her daughters, Marcia Lyn Defnet (Donald) of Marionette, WI and Cheryl Jane Schreiner (Harold) of Jacksonville, FL; her grandchildren, Garrett D., Adam J. Williams, Stuart M, Amanda R. Spink, Dylan Walker and Summer Evans Schreiner; and her great grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Caiden Williams, Sadie, Noah Neal and Paige Spink.
In 1994, she received the Highest Order of Excellence Influential Educators Award from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
