He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Higley and Geraldine Higley (Gillette); his wife Debra Higley; his son Steven Higley II; and his brother-in-law Dick Lyons.

He is survived by: his son Jason Higley (BettieJo) of Ashton; his siblings, Mike Higley (Sandy) of Reed City, Tim Higley (Dawn) of Hersey, Lloyd Higley Jr. of Morley, Diane Skinner (Denny) of Wakefield, Pam Sanford (Mike) of Newaygo, Karen Lyons of Big Rapids, Kim Prisbe (Alan) of Wakefield and Kris Thompson (Ed) of Morley; and his granddaughter Harper. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
