He was predeceased by: his parents, William Scharlow and Eliese Scharlow (Spierling); his sister Lorraine Bittner; his brother-in-law Ivan Bittner; his parents-in-law, Arthur and LayOla Holmes; his sister-in-law Julie Phelps; and his grandchildren, Katie and David Scharlow II.
He is survived by: his wife Norma (Holmes); his children, Pat Reinert (Scott), David Scharlow (Shelly) and Kris Griffin (Dave); his grandchildren, Monique Montgomery, Jason Montgomery (Cara), Zack Griffin (April), Julianne Jones (Andre) and Ashleigh Scharlow; his great grandchildren, Caleb, Ryan, Lilli Montgomery and Kendrick Jack Jones; his nieces and nephews, Jim Bittner (Diane), Sue Bittner, Angie Hamilton (Paul) and Brad Phelps (Carol); and his brother-in-law Herb Phelps.
