She was predeceased by: her parents, John Metz Sr. and Marie Metz Sr. (Maska); and her siblings, John Metz Jr. (Mary Ellen), Katherine LaFrance (Maury), Joan Ruettinger (Donald) and Eileen Kanitz.
She is survived by: her husband Demar Helzer; her children, Kay, Jack (Suzanne), Tom (Constance) and Dave (Amy Brose); her grandchildren, Daniel (Heather), Mark (Catherine), Scott (Roseanna), Ryen (Jazmin), Brett (Brittany), Kyle (Anna Cacciaglia) and Alan (Renee Gumbert); and her great grandchildren, Lillianna, Henry and Norah. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
