With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lena Charlen Rice (Redford, Michigan), born in Detroit, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 2, 2024 at the age of 63. As we bid adieu to Lena Charlen's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Lena Charlen has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Timothy Rice and Donna Han (Rice); her mother Donna Shelley (Qualls); her brothers, Robert Patrick Shelley and Timothy Shelley; and her father Robert Gene Shelley.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Charles Step Funeral Home and Cremation Services (18425 Beech Daly, Redford Charter Twp, MI 48240). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
