He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Mielke and Lily Mielke (Geisler); his former life partner Frances Piarowski; his wife Judith Kromenacker Lawson; his son Tim Mielke; his brother George Mielke; his great grandchild Owen Spencer and his stepgreat-granddaughter Emma Lawson.
He is survived by : his children, Kathy Bart (Jeff) of Grand Rapids, Rob Mielke of Muncie and Karen Mielke of Belleville; his daughter-in-law Lisa Mielke of Oldfield, Missouri; his grandchildren, Ryan, Ethan, Alisha and Ben; his siblings, Dorothy Hasse of Benton Harbor, Geri Shirey (Leroy) of Stevensville, Carol Akins of St. Joseph, Danny Vergot of Stevensville and David Vergot of Stevensville; his stepchildren, Mike Lawson, Marc Lawson (Kim), Matt Lawson (Tes), Marty Lawson (Olivia) and Annie Ansara (Louis); He is also survived by 15 step grandchildren; and numerous step great-grandchildren.
