He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shafer and Leah Shafer (Stout). He is survived by: his sons, Jerrold Shafer II (Linda) of Litchfield and Daniel Shafer of Reading; his grandchildren, Jessie, Justin, Troy and Ashley Shafer; his former wife Sylvia Burger; and his brother Steve Shafer of Idaho. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
