She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Schutter and Anna Schutter (Christiansen); her husband Robert Clinton Howland; her children, Robert Howland (Carol), Mary Stevens, Patricia Rodriguez (Savino), Eleanor Candela (Dan) and Richard Howland; and her brother John Schutter. She was also cherished by 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild; 4 brothers and 4 sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
