He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Joseph and Jane I Helm (Hanson); his brother Jeffrey Helm; his father-in-law Wier Ewers; and his granddaughter Kesha Leann Foley Ressler.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Helm (Ewers); his children, Matt Helm (Shanna) and Mary Martin (Ryan); his stepsons, Thomas Foley (Krista Ressler) and Jonathon Foley (Rachel); his sister Darlene Wade (Terry); his mother-in-law Florence Ewers; and his siblings-in-law, Jeffrey Ewers (Melissa), James Ewers, Amy Howell (David) and Diana Helm.
Because of Mike's love of animals, donations in his memory are suggested to Erin's Angles Rescue (498 Ridge Road, Quincy, MI 49082).
