He was predeceased by : his parents, Lester Walker and Nettie Walker (Warner); his stepdaughter Heather Young; his siblings, Clark Walker, Clare Walker and Norma May Pierson; and his nephew Michael Pierson.

He is survived by : his former life partner Betty Lou Castle; his wife Gail Dentler; his daughters, Deborah "Debbie" Francisco (Rod) of Plainwell and Janet Briggs (Kirk) of Kalamazoo; his stepson Lee Dentler of Wichita, KS; his sister Candy Minor (Tim) of Sherwood; his former life partner Betty Lou Kern; his stepgrandchildren, Zach Francisco (Anna), Katy Herrera (Adam), Caleb Francisco (Michaela), Patrice Ewers, Loree Cunningham and Terrance Marble; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Eliana Herrera, Isaac Francisco, Lija Francisco and Julian VanWormer.
