He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Gaskins and Noreen Gaskins (Hoots); and his siblings, Richard Gaskins and Bobbie Bronkhorst (John). He is survived by: his former wife Mary Reed; his wife Pastor Mary Hoots of Pullman; his sons, John Hoots, Jr. (Jacquie), Charles Hoots and Norman Hoots; and his siblings, Charles Gaskins (Josie), James Gaskins (Cheryl), Mollie Hoggard, Linda Hoezee (Bruce), Brenda Tomky and George Gaskins (Nancy). He is also survived by Many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
