He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kapala and Lucy Kapala (Zielinski); his son-in-law Charles Gordon; and his grandson Joshua Gordon. He is survived by: his wife Jackie; his children, Kurt Kapala (Ruth) of Presque Isle, Kevin Kapala (Sally) of Presque Isle and Gretchen Gordon of South Carolina; his grandchildren, Chad, Aaron, Simone, Camille and Christopher; his great grandchildren, Bentley, Bryce, Olivia, Colton, Renee and Ross; and his siblings, Irene Yule of Alpena and Jim Kapala (Del) of Bay City.
