It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verda Mae Nightengale of Potterville, Michigan, born in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on March 8, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Phillip Nightengale; her son Phillip Jr.; and her siblings, Orpha Hayden, Gloria Hickox, Donald, Robert and Wayne Whitney.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Nightengale of Charlotte and Cathy Nightengale-McHalpine (Pleasant) of Mt; her grandchildren, Sara Saylor (Jose), Suzie Gee (Brian) and Matthew McHalpine; her great grandchildren, Jacob Castenholz, Buturo and Bowen Bartolomei; and her siblings, Maxine Cady and Russell Whitney. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you honor her memory through your own random act of kindness.
