He was predeceased by: his parent Vena Edwards (Longstreet); and his brother Merrill Edwards. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Edwards; his children, Michelle "Shelly" Barnhill (Chris) and Matthew Edwards (Dawn); his grandchildren, Erik Barnhill (Tara), Austin Barnhill (Gabby), Alexis Barnhill and Hunter Edwards (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Elijah, Ezlee, Enzo, Carter, Addison and Zoey; and his siblings, Ron Edwards (Linda), Ann Ayres and Claude Edwards (Anna).
