He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Ann Sumner (Walters); his son Brian Scott Sumner; and his brothers, Stan Sumner and Rex Sumner. He is survived by: his children, Michael Sumner (Aurora) of Charlotte and Jayne Anderson (Tim) of Charlotte; his daughter-in-law Christine Sumner; his grandchildren, Jennifer Mott (Ryon), Ryan Arias-Sumner, Kristopher Arias-Sumner, Brian Sumner II of Arizona, Amandajean Line (Brett), Chelsey Evans (Josh) of Texas, Kyle Anderson (Shelby) and Kaitlyn Anderson; and his great grandchildren, Arianna, Teighan, Easton, Cameron, Braxton, Grady and Emmett.
