He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Showerman and Clarice Showerman (Schwab); and his brother John Oaks Showerman. He is survived by: his wife Laurita Showerman; his son Jonathon Showerman (Denise); his grandchildren, Scott Showerman, Alexis Showerman and Jared Showerman; his great grandchildren, Lily and Natalie; his siblings, Louise Hill, Ralph Showerman (Kathie) and Joyce Showerman; and his stepbrother Paul Cline. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lehman Funeral Homes (210 E Bridge St, Portland, MI 48875). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Portland United Methodist Church (310 E Bridge St, Portland, MI 48875). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Danby Township Cemetery (13122 Charlotte Hwy, Sunfield, MI 48890).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Marine Corps Heritage Museum and the American Battlefield Trust in memory of Robert.
