Eleanor Marie Peake Obituary
We bid farewell to Eleanor Marie Peake of Portland, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 15, 2025 at the age of 93. Eleanor touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Gensterblum and Helen Gensterblum (Fernholz); her husband Forest "Bud" Peake; her children, William "Bill" Peake and Leanne Simon; her great grandchild Margot Hengesbach; her siblings, Richard Gensterblum (Marcella), Leon Gensterblum (Helen), Elizabeth Huhn (Gerald), Geraldine Hodge (Albert), Marvin Gensterblum (Lois), Virginia Shimp (Neil), Lucille Redman (Carl), Alvin Gensterblum, Dolores Houser (Allen), Paul Gensterblum (Judy), Robert Gensterblum (Mary), Larry Gensterblum (Janet) and Barbara Densmore; and her in-laws, Wilbur Peake (Mary), Margy Moyer (John) and Lynn Peake.
She is survived by: her children, Randy Peake (Donna), Sue Hengesbach and Nancy Schrauben (Ted); her children-in-law, Sharon Peake and Kevin Simon; her siblings, Bernita Marie Gensterblum, Mary Louise Hanses (Bill) and Jim Gensterblum (Louise); her in-laws, Cecelia Gensterblum and Leon "Pete" Densmore; and her caregivers, Riz Bashir, Kim Bower, Michelle Rodriguez, Michelle Schmeichel, Michelle VanSlambrook, Angie Weber, Sam, Kelly and Hailey. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Lehman Funeral Homes (210 E Bridge St, Portland, MI 48875). Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (520 W Grand River Ave, Portland, MI 48875). A committal service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the Danby Township Cemetery (13122 Charlotte Hwy, Sunfield, MI 48890).
