He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Briggs and Ruth Briggs; his wife Martha; his stepfather Harry Rasmussen; his daughter Brenda Dimmick Doster; his brother Stanley Briggs; and his brother-in-law David Beattie.
He is survived by: his former wife Vivan; his children, William Earl Briggs Jr., Debra Snell (Ken) and Tom Briggs (Stephanie); his stepsons, Paul Norg and Andrew Norg; his close friend Margaret Giltner; his sister Joan Beattie; his sister-in-law Charlene Briggs; his brother Jack Briggs (Sandy); his half-brothers, Bob Rasmussen, John Briggs and Allen Briggs; and his grandchildren, Terry Blanchard, Nathan Dimmick (Maggie), Nici Dimmick (Amanda), Kaitlyn Briggs, Gena Briggs-Noyes (Rusty) and Michael Briggs Jr. Additionally.
The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or charity of Choice.
