He was predeceased by: his parents, Orva Bowers and Kathleen Bowers (Denning); his wife Joyce (Munger); his sister Helen Munger; his brother-in-law Jack Munger; and his nephew Scott Munger.

He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Zuidema (Scott Israels), Teri Kurtz (Steve) and Julie Newhouse (David); his grandchildren, Melissa Ragainis (Zuidema), Jennifer Bos (Zuidema), Matthew Zuidema, Sandra Dragone (Kurtz), Molly Pool (Newhouse), Abbey Barnes (Newhouse) and Daniel Newhouse; his stepgrandsons, James Kurtz, Daniel Kurtz and Andrew Kurtz; and his nephew Kurt Munger. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
