Jan loved to sing, and had been a member of the Select Choir in High School. Jan especially loved country music, which was her mother's favorite as well. Jan had an incredible ability to remember the lyrics and tunes of popular and country songs almost instantly, even as her health declined.
Jan lived the majority of her adult life in Delton and Hastings, Michigan Jan's heart and homes were always open to friends and family. Some of her happiest years were spent with her second husband, Charles (Chuck) Lumbert, who preceded her in death in 2009. Jan and Chuck had shared many fun-filled nights singing Karaoke at the Richland Lanes.
Jan loved animals especially dogs and horses. The fur-babies she and Chuck shared were a great comfort to her after his passing. She also had a life-long love of horses and in her last home set in rural Hastings, she loved seeing the Amish neighbor drive by in horse and buggy.
