Hendrik Jay Poppen Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 12, 2024, at the age of 73, Hendrik Jay Poppen of Portage, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jelis Poppen and Aaltje Poppen (DeJonge); and his brother Ben Poppen. He is survived by: his children, Andrea Paladino, Erika Cutler (Nick) and Brian Poppen; his grandchildren, Madison Cutler, Layla Cutler, Charlotte Cutler, Rebekah Poppen and Rachel Poppen; his foster son Joesiyia Blair-Hill; his friend Marlene Hickok; his sisters, Ellen Crawford (Mike), Kitty Longenecker and Rika Ritsema (Hank); and also, Andrew Hickok (Ross), Katie Hickok Mannebach (David) and Declan. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services (411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM and at 12:00 PM.
