Age 81 of Portage, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Gert was born in Muskegon, MI, on September 15, 1943, the daughter of Edward and Myrtle G. (Reynolds) Anderson. On November 9, 1981, she married Wesley J. Mazurek, who survives her. Gert was a graduate of Greenville High School. She held many occupations during her life, including being a realtor. In her spare-time she enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard with her flowers. She also liked sewing, craft projects, collecting antiques and genealogy. In her younger years, she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She had also been a member of the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Besides her husband, Gert is survived by her children, Brian P. Butler of Hickory Corners, Debra Hopkins of Appling, GA, Paul (Shelly) Mazurek of Saline, and John (Lynette) Mazurek of Portage; grandchildren, Donald (Jessica) Anderson, Joshua R. Butler, Graham Carlson, Ayla Carlson, Brennen Butler, Breanna Butler, Mira Butler, Julia Hopkins; great-granddaughters, Jaiden Anderson, Lillian Carlson, and Adalie Carlson; sisters, Barbara Tuinhoff and Adelaine Riojos; brother, Edward (Marie) Anderson; sisters-in-law, Patricia Robinson and Fran Raddatz; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Gert was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Robinson; sisters, Dixie (Bill) Gruber, Beatrice (John) Nienhuis; brothers-in-law, Bill Tuinhoff and Sam Riojos.
