George G. Cassell Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George G. Cassell in Portage, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 20, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Abigail Gish; his brother David (Jeffrey); his nephew Robert; his friend Bruce; his parent Abigail Stone (Gish); his stepfather Melvin Cassell; his sister-in-law Jane Cassell; his siblings, Lois Gail Stone, Dorothy Jean Haynes (Cassell), Dorothy May Kaminski (Stone) and Lowell "John" Stone; his wife Maria Reit; his sons, David Cassell (Debra) and Jeffrey Cassell (Kimberly); his brothers, Wayne Cassell, Roger Cassell (Bonnie) and Carl "Butch" Stone; and also, Jane, Sepp and Margot. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pathfinder Church (8740 S Westnedge Ave, Portage, MI 49002). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
