Dason J. Cox Obituary
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church, 9316 Oakland Dr., Portage. Friends may call on the family at the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be given to a fund being established for the nurturing of his granddaughter, Mya, in c/o the funeral home.
Age 50 of Portage, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024, following a short, hard fought battle with cancer. Dason was born in Kalamazoo on October 18, 1974, the son of James Glenn and Carla (Decker) Cox. On September 20, 1997, he married Nicole Meloche who survives him. Dason was a lifelong resident of the Greater Kalamazoo area. He was a man of many interests. He was an avid sportsman who liked hunting, fishing, golfing and softball. He loved music and would often attend local concerts featuring friends of his who were playing. He loved his many pets; dogs, cats and goldfish. Dason was the extrovert who brought out the introvert of others, including his wife. Nothing was more important to him than his family. He especially cherished his granddaughter, and he was so looking forward to being with her for her first Christmas. Besides his wife, Dason is survived by his children, Morgan (Keygan) Clark and Alex Cox; granddaughter, Mya Clark; mother, Carla Cox; brother, Zachary (Sarah) Cox; three nephew, Cooper, Brady and Mason; and countless friends including his four-legged friends, Winter, Willow and Jaxon. Dason was preceded in death by his father.
