He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Cartwright and Dortha Cartwright Sr.; his grandson Ashton Collins; and his siblings, Jill Cartwright, Terry Cartwright, Jacalyn Cartwright, Mark Cartwright and Donald Cartwright.
He is survived by: his children, Matthew Cartwright (Bridget), Brian Cartwright (Tonia Raimondo) and Jennie Collins; and his siblings, Deborah Moore (late Roy), Michael Cartwright (Donna), Toni Laidley, Patty Soboleski and Stacey Cartwright. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
